“Distance doesn’t separate people, silence does.”

It’s a common misconception that distance is what separates people. It’s actually silence that does the job. You can be physically next to someone, but still feel miles away because they’re not there for you with words of support, advice, and encouragement. So many of us have experienced this in one form or another at some point in our lives; we’ve felt as though we were on an island surrounded by a vast ocean alone without any way to reach out for help from others around us who may understand where we are coming from.

Silence creates isolation and in the silence, we are left to fend for ourselves. It’s not easy and it requires a lot of strength on our own part when there is no one else to help us through those moments. Silence can have such an impact because people who rely on communication as their go-to coping mechanism may feel like they don’t matter, when this couldn’t be further from the truth.

If this is you, I know it can be difficult to reach out and ask for help, but remember you are not alone on this earth, no matter how it may feel at times. There are likely others around you who would be happy to have a conversation or support you through the good and tough times in your life or business.

Remember, you matter and have significant worth!
