“Success isn’t about how much money you make. It’s about the difference you make in people’s lives.” ~ Michelle Obama
Making a positive influence on others and adding value should always be at the forefront of what we do. Even though money is often seen as the easiest and quickest route to positively impacting others, it’s not always true. The truth is, there are many ways in which you could make an impression on someone without spending any money at all! Below are a few simple strategies you can use to make a positive influence on others and what steps you can take to get involved without using money.
How can I make a positive impact on others without being wealthy?
One of the easiest ways to positively influence someone is through our words. This might seem like an obvious answer, but it’s one that we often neglect when given the opportunity. When speaking with another person, try to be sincere and heartfelt. Ask them questions and be open to learning something new. You’ll be surprised at how much you can impact someone’s life by asking the right questions and taking the time to listen.
What steps can I take to contribute to others without having money?
The first step is, as mentioned above, to have an impact on others through your words. This doesn’t require any financial investment whatsoever because we all have something to offer, whether it be knowledge, experience, or unique talent.
The second step is taking the time to share a bit of your story. Each of us is on a unique journey and we’ve all picked up lessons along the way that can help others move forward. Share something with someone new and see what happens. Maybe they’ll even tell you a story of their own!
The third step is giving of your time or energy, which just takes a little bit more effort than telling someone about what we’ve done in the past. Ask someone what they need and then try your best to provide it for them. This could be anything from taking an hour or two to help out with their project, babysitting their kids, or volunteering at a local charity.
It’s really easy to think that we’re too busy, or our talents are too insignificant and small. But the reality is, there are so many people out there who need a little extra help in some area of their life right now.
